LOL! Well, I've been crazy busy this week and likely will be until at least the beginning of next week. I'd still like to try a test of OpenRPG when I get the chance. Other than that, though, not much is happening.

Do we have a premise of what sort of adventure we'll be doing (i.e an idea of what character classes would be most appropriate)? I might start very slowly on a character sheet this week. Smile

Rogue - Wizard - Fighter - Cleric is the standard group set up.

Although my current campaign is playing with a 'Who needs heals'-set up;

Wizard, Sorcerer (going Dragon heart Mage for breath weapon), Fighter (going for dwarven defender), Fighter/Barbarian (Going for Frenzied Berserker), Ranger (Going for Deep wood sniper).

Isn't there also a theif class and an assassin class?

There's probably prestige classes somewhere for those. You got your base classes:

Barbarian, Fighter, Monk, Wizard, Sorcerer, Bard, Druid, Rogue, Druid, Cleric, Paladin

Prestige classes can be acquired as you gain experience, and they kind of focus the character's skills. A Thief would be more tailored Rogue, probably, and an Assassin a mix of Rogue and Fighter.

There's gobs of prestige classes out there, and I myself only have the documentation on a few of the ones CG mentioned. Very Happy

I'll lay claim to the Ranger, if nobody else is gonna take. But I might need the info on the Deep Wood Sniper; otherwise Arcane Archer is the best I can do. Razz

Alright then, I'll lay claim to an assassin character (a combination of fighter and rogue). The prestige class thing makes sense since that's how a lot of class/job based video game rpgs do it.

Hahaha, all these plans while I still haven't DLed OpenRPG. Next week will be a bit slow (I hope) so I'll consult my dad on Dling it. He's a bit reluctant to do those type of things, but I'll manage to convince him. Once I have it, me and Teele (you have it right?) will give it a go (I hope).

And yeah, most of those prestige classes come from sourcebooks, no the core ones. Deepwood sniper is, well awesome... two more levels, and he'll be able to shoot things from over a mile away Smile (Which, I think, isn't even physically possible tongue ). The Assassin is in the DM-guide, and requires rogue thingies, mainly.

A super-short-summary on prestige classes;
Prestige classes are classes that have requirements before you can pick them up. This may be a certain spell (or amount of spells), a certain amount of ranks in certain skills, certain feats, a base attack bonus of + a certain amount, or even more obscure things like a ritual (The Eye of Gruumsh P-class needs to carve his own eye out). Once you meet all the requirements, you can then starts leveling in that class. A level 6 fighter, with the right feats, could turn into a level 6 fighter, level 1 dwarven defender. Prestige classes are often stronger or at least more specialised then the base classes.

As for the base classes Teele mentioned;
Spirit Shaman, Favoured Soul, Shugenja, Warlock, Warmage, Wu Jen, Hex Blade, Samurai, Swashbuckler.

Ok, forget I just said that. *MiB flash*
